First, I know many of you are here to find out who's the lucky winner of Sujata's book, Cultural Fusion Quilts. Drumroll please....
Congratulations, Marilyn R! I've forwarded Marilyn's contact info to Sujata to notify her of her win. For those of you who weren't lucky this time, I've linked the book title to Amazon in case you're inclined to treat yourself. *wink* You won't regret it! And thanks to all of you, old friends and new visitors, for stopping by to participate.
Although this post is mainly to announce the blog tour winner, how could I start with a screen shot of a random number generator during this holiday season? Instead, I'm sharing a shot of Tallinn, Estonia's Christmas market. It was taken by my daughter-in-law, Heather, on a recent visit there with her Mom. I mentioned Heather's travel blog, Ferreting Out the Fun, a while ago, when they were living in Asia. Now they're in Riga, Latvia and she's capturing some wonderful sights around Europe. (National Geographic's webpage recently recommended it!) If you need a little boost of holiday spirit this week, step away from your wrapping and cards for a moment and visit the Christmas market in Tallinn. You may never get to visit in real life, but Heather's post will surely transport you to this most charming place, if only for a few minutes!
Thanks for participating in the blog hop. I have forwarded my
address to Sujata. I just can't wait to start a project. Thanks again,
Happy Holidays to you and your family.

It looks like Heather has been having a wonderful time in Europe. The Christmas markets are SO magical -- I hope she's drinking lots of Gluhwein for all of us who can't be there! And even more, I hope you make it over there before they come home!

Oh, I have been to Tallinn, your picture brought back lots of nice memories! When we were living in Russia it was one of our favorite places to visit; the old city is wonderful. I'll be sure to check out Heather's account of it.

The Christmas market looks wonderful! Is Heather going to bring you back some mitten yarn?

Thanks for reminding me about Heather's blog, it is a great way to get an up-close and personal view of some unique places. One of my friends took an extended trip through Eastern Europe, loved it all and came back with several pairs of fabulous shoes! Estonia was one of her favorite places, I would love to go.
I got more interested in Estonia after I found this book: http://katedaviesdesigns.com/2012/01/12/from-muhu-island/. A great book about all their needlework traditions.
Thanks for all your thoughtful writing. Hope you and your family have a merry Christmas and healthy New Year.
