"Snake" ~ Helen Giddens (Photo from IQSC.org)
2013. The year of the snake. What better illustration than one of my all-time favorite quilts, Helen Giddens' "Snake". Her pieced work is wonderful. If you're not familiar with it, it's worth searching out.
So, here we are. I've been thinking a lot about this new year. 2012 was a busy, grab-the-reins and hold-on-tight time for us. It held some of the most fun times I've ever had, with lots of good memories. On this first day of 2013, however, I'm hoping for a quieter year. I need a breather!
My calendar is completely blank. It's lovely to think about how I will fill it in. With so many ideas, goals and possibilities, it will be interesting to see how it all unfolds. And how will I spend this first day? Watching the Gator Bowl and searching out my nephew, down on the field.
Wishing you all a good start to a happy and healthy new year!
