I got back last evening and am moving in definite slow motion today. It was, perhaps, my most busy trip to Japan yet and toward the end, I developed a terrible cold from which I'm suffering the effects this morning. It's snowing out and I'm still in PJs, which may just end up being an all-day situation ~ the snow and the PJs.
Although the suitcases aren't yet unpacked, I couldn't wait to upload my photos and am happy that I'll have lots to share over the next few weeks. As in previous years, I'll put up another Flickr album from the Tokyo Quilt Festival and will post a link here once I get that started.
Until then, here are a few teaser shots from the show...detail shots from some of the exhibited quilts. I was lucky enough to again be able to visit on two days and am anxious to share my experiences and observations.
Back in a few days!

Love that opening quilt--get better, as this particular strain of cold/flu/bronchitis is a nasty one. We'll wait patiently until you're ready to show us the quilts--so glad you made it back home safely.
And glad you had a great time.

I'm looking forward to seeing your slide show. One of my friends, quilter by night, also posted pictures. She went back a second time and so did I but she bought the books for reference. Too bad they didn't at least have the quilter's names in English.

Thank you soooo much for sharing! I've combed over your flickr photos TWICE. I'm always in such awe of quilts made by Japanese quilters. The attention to detail, the beauty of them, the stories behind them, the uniqueness, the patience it must take... all things that practically bring me to tears when I look at the photos of them.

I'm so anxious Jan. I've checked the flickr page just to see if you've uploaded the festival pictures. You would never imagine how important it is for me. Really hope to travel to Tokyo in january some year soon. Best wishes to you from Chile.
