Gumdrops! I want more gumdrops!

amy lobsiger

Oooh, your blocks are wonderful, Jan! Love them--they are just so much fun. Instead of gumdrops, I will think of them like the Lifesavers jelly beans I've been gorging on...fantastic colors and flavors. :-) Spring fever is intense this year!

KathieB

Gumdrops--what a great name for those blocks. The cuteness is just about overwhelming. But don't get me wrong--there is edge too. It's a just-about perfect combo of sweet and sassy..

Janet

I love doing a quilt that gets you so excited, you can't stop doing them. I love the blocks so much, are we allowed to be a copy cat?
Thanks for showing the fabrics too, I love the yellows.

Jennifer

Love these! You know how much I like the J.Rothermel fabrics, too. Spring fever is catching.

mimi k

the blocks are delicious! It will be fantastic when they all come together :)

quilt crazy

Absolutely wonderful! Your blog is wonderful respite from homework! Someday I will return to my sewing room!

Clare

Yummy gum drops.

monica

that quilt will be stunning. sigh.

I'm getting sewing twitches at the moment... can't wait to go home now..

Lovely gum drops - i love the unexpected colour combos that you find in many japanese quilts as well. And somehow there's a 1950s feel to the colours too.
And that yummy last picture makes me even more sure that thereis a red and aqua quilt in my future, and I see that I need to stock up on pink as well ;-)

lovelove love these blocks, so sorry you have to set them aside. just don't lose momentum! the red, pink and aqua is fun too

Wendy

I LOVE that quilt! Those blocks must be so addicting! Those colors just get you going! You know they are just that tiny bit different to add a new spark. I love the new line you found too. I have to go up to the quilt store to see if they have any, I want to see them. You were just the boost I needed today to get me excited, guess that's why I love reading your blog! This always happens!

Anita

Such beautiful eye candy! Your blocks are fabulous... and those Judie Rothermel fabrics are perfect.

Leslie

Gosh, I love those little squares. So bright and yummy looking, just like gumdrops!

I love your color combinations! We're having a good time visiting the family in chicago this week but it's such a short trip I don't have any time for quilting or quilt shopping. I'm planning to come back for 2 weeks in June though, so I'd like to hear about the shops you found and maybe check them out then. If I remember, I'll try to email you closer to the trip.

What size are your blocks? The center square? The 1/2 square triangles? They are absolutely adorable!! Waaaaayyyy too cute!!
I'd say you've inspired many to embark on your adventure with you~ Thanks for sharing

Magnolia Bay Quilts

I can understand why you can't stop making those blocks. They look like so much fun. Some of the fabrics look so funky, and combined with the 30s prints, they're so happy!

amandajean

Kim

Love the quilt in progress! Love all the fabrics and the new Judie Rothermel collection! Dang you're making me have to stop off at a quilt shop this week! ;o) Wish I was making the 8+ hour drive to Chicago...but I'm chained to the office desk instead. :o( Have fun!!! Hope to see pics from the show!
