...but no jiggedy-jig here yet. This trip took the starch out of me. Was it the 1,560 miles from the Heartland to Baltimore (several days of family & holiday merry-making) to NYC (a couple of days at K's) to Pennsylvania (quick overnight with parents) and the 10-hour ride home on Monday? It could have been the non-stop conversation. Or the food. Or amount thereof. Which I thought I was pretty good at controlling, considering. But New York did me in. Even with all the walking in the city, I came home with several pounds I didn't leave with.
It might have been the wiener schnitzel and potato pancakes at Lederhosen Saturday night.
I suspect these were the culprits. We first had them in Osaka with Molly and when K mentioned they had opened a shop near his neighborhood, the thought *You only live once!* immediately sprang to mind. They are divine. Sinful following Thanksgiving, but divine.
Now the return routine of unpacking, washing clothes, going through accumulated email, mail & papers and restocking the fridge (with lots of veggies and sparkling water, for the time being). It's usually a one day turnaround for me, but I think the gray skies are contributing to my sluglike pace this time. Sunshine is forecast for this afternoon though, so things should be looking up shortly.
